GRITTY EFFORT AGAINST NORTHERN
The Senior Panthers didn't read the press clippings that had them as titanic
underdogs against Northern and came out swinging to play their BEST Tier I
game since 2008!
Ignoring the obvious imbalance in size and numbers, LP went toe to toe with NSS, but alas the final score registered 9-6 for the Red Knights. Northern scored on a 1 yard rush TD, as we would later, which they converted. In the second half we conceded a safety to round them up to 9.
Thanks to a hard hitting defence led by Max Triskan, Doug Scully, Daniel Rottman, Chris Lawson, and Mike Tweedley, the game was always in reach. Coaches Adam DeGrasse and Andrew Lang had the D prepared, prepped, and pumped.
Unfortunately our offence was again plagued by untimely mistakes and inconsistencies. Over time, our youthful O should find its groove, as several key players are in their first year of senior.
Unfortunately moral victories don't register in the standings and now we have to win out to have a shot at the playoffs. First up, our annual tough test versus East York who will be primed to avenge our 1-0 upset of them in last year's playoffs. Both teams have their backs to the wall. Its going to be a battle.
